Hero Xoom 125 Long Ride – Packing Memories & Leaving Digha with Mohana Fish Market Experience
In the previous part of our journey, we explored the beautiful coastal route from New Digha to Mandarmani and experienced the peaceful charm of Shankarpur Beach. That day was filled with adventure, scenic beauty, and unforgettable moments.
Now, this part begins with a slightly emotional note — because it was time to say goodbye to Digha.
A Fresh Morning & Packing for the Return Journey
The next morning started with a calm and peaceful vibe. As we woke up in our hotel room at Hotel Monalisa Inn, there was a mix of satisfaction and a little sadness in our hearts.
Trips like this always leave you with memories… and leaving those moments behind is never easy.
We got fresh, and without wasting much time, we started packing our luggage. Since we were traveling on our Hero Xoom 125, packing smartly was very important.
We adjusted all our bags carefully:
- Front floorboard already had luggage
- Seat shared between me and Priyunka
- Side space was limited
Along with that, we also carried 5–6 bottles of water, as we knew the return journey would be long and hydration was important.
After wearing our riding gears and doing a final check, we checked out from the hotel and started our scooty.

Breakfast Again at New Digha – Central Canteen Experience
Before starting our return journey, we decided to have breakfast at our favorite place near the beach — the Central Canteen at New Digha Beach.
We had already visited this place earlier, and just like before, the food didn’t disappoint.
The morning atmosphere was calm, with soft sea breeze and light background music. Compared to evenings, the beach area in the morning feels peaceful and refreshing.
We enjoyed a simple yet tasty breakfast and mentally prepared ourselves for the journey ahead.
Heading Towards Digha Mohana – An Emotional Goodbye
After breakfast, we started our Hero Xoom 125 again, this time towards Digha Mohana.
The ride was short, but emotionally heavy.
As we were leaving the beach area, both of us felt a little emotional. Digha had given us so many beautiful moments — from beach walks to coastal rides, from temple visits to peaceful evenings.
It felt like saying goodbye to a place that had become special to us in just a few days.
Fuel Refill at Old Digha
Before heading further, we made a smart move — we refueled our scooty at a petrol pump in Old Digha.
For long rides like this, planning fuel stops is very important. Our Hero Xoom 125 was already giving great mileage, but still, we didn’t want to take any risk.
With a full tank and full confidence, we continued our journey towards Mohana.
Digha Mohana Fish Market – Real Local Experience
We finally reached Digha Mohana, one of the most popular fish markets in the region.
Although the market usually operates early in the morning (around 5 am to 8 pm for peak activity), we reached there around 11 am.
Even at that time, there were still plenty of shops open.
Now started the real challenge — finding fresh fish at the best price.
We explored multiple shops, compared prices, and did some bargaining (which is a must here 😄).
Finally, we selected a shop and bought:
- 2.5 KG prawns
- 1 KG Hilsa (Ilish)
- 1 KG Pomfret
The quality looked fresh, and the prices were reasonable after negotiation.
Managing Fish on a Scooty – The Real Challenge
Now came the toughest part of the entire trip…
How to carry 4.5 KG of fish on a fully loaded scooty?
We bought:
- Thermocol box – ₹150
- Ice – ₹100
After packing everything properly, the box weighed around 6 KG.
At first, we were confused.
Where to keep it?
- Front? Already full
- Back? No space
- Seat? Not possible
After some trial and error, we finally found a solution.
We placed the thermocol box inside a strong bag (thela) and hung it on the left-side grab handle of our Hero Xoom 125.
Thankfully, Priyunka was comfortable sitting even with that setup.
Honestly, this was one of those moments where jugaad meets travel experience 😄

Exploring Mohana Beach – Boats & Local Life
Before leaving, we spent some time near the Mohana beach area.
We saw several fishing boats returning from the sea. The scene was very raw and real — fishermen unloading their catch, people bargaining, and the entire place full of local energy.
It was completely different from the tourist side of Digha.
Moments like these make a trip more meaningful — because you don’t just see a place, you experience its real life.
Starting the Return Journey – Back to Khatra
Finally, it was time to begin our return journey.
We started our Hero Xoom 125 again — this time with:
- Full luggage
- Extra water
- And a 6 KG fish box hanging on the side 😄
The balance of the scooty was surprisingly stable, and once again, the performance impressed us.
As we left Digha behind, we carried not just luggage…
but also memories, emotions, and experiences that will stay with us forever.
