Hero Xoom 125 Long Ride: Mandarmani & Shankarpur Journey from Digha | Part 5

Hero Xoom 125 Long Ride Continues – From New Digha to Mandarmani via Coastal Road

In the previous parts of our journey (Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, and Part 4), we covered everything from our ride from Khatra to Digha, our beach experience, Jagannath Temple visit, pool fun, and lunch.
Now, in this part, the adventure continues with one of the most scenic rides of our trip — Mandarmani via coastal road on our Hero Xoom 125.

Starting the Ride After Lunch – Destination Mandarmani

After finishing our lunch at the popular restaurant Abar Khabo (which honestly didn’t meet our expectations), we didn’t waste much time. The real excitement of the day was waiting ahead.

We started our Hero Xoom 125 long ride towards Mandarmani, which is approximately 22–25 km from New Digha.

The weather was perfect — not too hot, not too cloudy — just the kind of day you want for a coastal ride.

As soon as we left New Digha, the traffic started reducing. The roads became quieter, smoother, and more scenic. Riding with Priyunka sitting behind me, and our fully loaded scooty performing flawlessly, the journey itself felt more beautiful than the destination.

The Coastal Road Experience – Best Part of the Journey

After a few kilometers, we entered what I would call the best stretch of our entire Digha trip — the coastal road.

On one side, there was the open sky and sea breeze…
And on the other side, greenery and empty roads.

At certain points, the sea waves were visible just beside the road — something you usually only see in movies.

This part of the Hero Xoom 125 long ride felt magical. There were very few vehicles, and the silence of the road made the experience even more special.

We slowed down a bit, took some photos, and just enjoyed the moment. These are the kinds of memories that stay forever.

Tajpur & Shankarpur – Hidden Gems Near Digha

While heading towards Mandarmani, we passed through Tajpur and Shankarpur, both of which are known beach destinations near Digha.

We didn’t stop much at Tajpur because our main target was Mandarmani. However, we decided that on our return journey, we would definitely explore Shankarpur.

The road connectivity between these places is quite good, and traveling on a scooty like Hero Xoom 125 makes it even more flexible and enjoyable.

Reaching Mandarmani – Beach Ride Experience

Finally, after a smooth and enjoyable ride, we reached Mandarmani.

But the real fun started just before the beach.

There was sand everywhere — and suddenly, we remembered those scenes from movies where people ride cars and bikes on the beach.

So we decided — why not try it ourselves?

We took our Hero Xoom 125 onto the sandy path.

At first, the scooty struggled a bit, but thanks to its 14-inch wheels and stable balance, we managed to ride through the sand without getting stuck badly.

That moment was thrilling!

After riding around 100 meters on the beach, we reached a relatively empty spot. There were very few people around, which made the experience even better.

Beach Moments – Photos, Videos & Memories

Mandarmani beach felt peaceful compared to New Digha.

We parked our scooty and started clicking photos and videos for our YouTube channel.
I also recorded some clips reviewing the performance of Hero Xoom 125 long ride, especially how it handled sandy terrain.

Then came a special moment — Priyunka decided to ride the scooty herself on the beach!

It was her first time doing something like this, and honestly, she enjoyed it a lot. Watching her ride confidently on the sand made the moment even more memorable.

We spent a good amount of time there, enjoying the sea breeze, taking selfies, and just living the moment.

Return Journey – Sunset & Peaceful Shankarpur Beach

As evening approached, we decided to head back.

On our way back, we stopped at Shankarpur Beach — and honestly, this turned out to be one of the most peaceful parts of our trip.

There was proper parking available, so we parked our scooty and walked towards the beach.

Unlike New Digha, Shankarpur was less crowded, quiet, and extremely peaceful.

We found a sitting area and spent around 20–25 minutes just relaxing.

The sunset had already happened, and the evening lights created a calm and romantic atmosphere.

If you are someone who wants peace instead of crowd, I highly recommend visiting Shankarpur.

Unexpected Moment – Night View of Jagannath Temple

While returning to New Digha, something unexpected happened.

We took a wrong turn… but sometimes, wrong turns create the best memories.

That road led us behind the Jagannath Temple, New Digha.

And what we saw there was absolutely breathtaking.

The temple was beautifully lit at night, glowing like something divine. Even from outside, the view felt magical.

We stopped for a moment, folded our hands, and took blessings from Jagannath, Balram, and Subhadra.

It was a peaceful and spiritual moment in the middle of our journey.

Back to New Digha Beach – Food Over Dinner

After that, we reached New Digha Beach again.

This time, our focus was food — and we went all in!

We tried:

  • Fish fry (Bhetki)
  • Prawns
  • Octopus
  • Other local seafood

Everything was fresh and delicious.

Honestly, we ate so much that there was no space left for dinner. So we decided to skip dinner completely.

End of the Day – Back to Hotel

By the time we finished, it was around 9:30 to 10:00 PM.

We were completely tired but extremely happy.

We returned to our hotel (Hotel Monalisa Inn), parked our Hero Xoom 125, and went straight to our room.

After getting fresh, we didn’t even have the energy to talk much — we just went to bed and slept peacefully.

What’s Coming Next?

In the next part of this Hero Xoom 125 long ride series, I will share:

  • Visit to Mohana fish market
  • Buying fresh fish like prawns, pomfret & ilish
  • How we carried fish on scooty
  • Our return journey back home (~220 km)
